Today I spent ages at the airport, the longest time ever. I don’t know why everybody left Munich. A little girl escaped her father and threw his wallet into a dustbin. He was not amused. I was utterly bored while waiting for the security check.
Then a signpost caught my attention.
I looked around. Who were the diplomats in this queue? The two Frenchmen before me, chatting away in their lovely language? Or the two behind me, discussing whether time would suffice to have a beer before boarding? Or maybe it was ME, me the diplomat? But if so – why did I need to wait in a queue?
When I finally arrived at the x-ray machine, the security officer said: Munich must be empty by now…
