You know Miro, right? The color blocking guy, painter of laaaarrrrgggge, geometric oceans of blues, blacks, and reds.
This is how you know Miro:
Currently, we have a Miro exhibition at Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt. It is a huge success – it drags in hundreds of people, they are even queuing at the cash register. Well, some culture buffs around here, huh?
I was surprised to see Miro like this – if somebody had told me that it was an early Dali, I would not have doubted it. It’s one of Miro’s first paintings, a farm actually, which has some Dali-esque elements.
But also among his color blocking works, there was one that especially caught my attention. I love it most as it combines clear and fuzzy, bold and timid, bright and pastel in a way that speaks to me.
