Well, consulting can bring you to beautiful places. Do you see the fine line of white on the horizon? Those are the Alps. They represent the definite “+”es of consulting – working on exciting projects, learning new skills every day, cooperating with cool and smart people.
But what about the “-“es? They are there, for sure. Consulting can bring you to really ugly places as well. Sitting in suffocating, shabby offices, working with unwilling and frustrated people, working long nights to finish stuff driving you nuts or boring you to death.
Keeping your sanity while doing this job is a question of perspective: Although it can get tough there, the clients of the second type are those who need your consultancy the most. To open closed minds is the biggest and most rewarding challenge of all.
