January 2nd this year I started to work on one of my new year resolutions: to do more fun-things. I subscribed to a Hot air balloon ride. In Morocco, it sounds nicer, of course: J’ai survolé le désert àbord d’une montgolfière. It is a fascinating procedure, although there is not so much adrenaline involved than I first thought. Instead, it is very peaceful and quiet (unless the pilot starts the gas burners which hiss like a million angry cats).
After the landing, there was lot’s of hand shaking and congratulations because we all now were “baptized by air”. We got a certificate which made me laugh – it “certified that XYZ flew aboard the Hot-air Balloon of Ciel d’Afrique before an admiring crowd“.
An admiring crowd? Let’s see where it is… there is lot’s of desert all around, you know? Aaaahhh, here we go, here they are, the admiring crowd. Do you see it, in front of the balloon’s shadow? Yes, clearly admiring 🙂
