A little D.I.Y. project, anybody? Recently, I found an article about hand lettering, which caught my eye because I like letters and words. I also like drawing, but I am not so good at it (see my earlier attempts of Dominik and the Killer Queen). Hence, why not try this: draw / paint letters instead of people or still life, that will be quick and give a nice home decoration.
Recently I got invited to a PPP (private painting party) by a friend who has all the oil paints and stuff at home, so that was the chance to try it out. Because, painting in oil adds a very sensuous aspect to the act of drawing: the color, the texture, the rich pigment of the oil paints – this is just fantastic for a visual & haptic person like me.
And here is what came out of it: Aren’t those fantastic reds?
I started another one in deep, deep blues. It will hold another motto after it has dried throughoutly, but that will be the subject of another post later on.
